At Bridging the Gap Africa, our building process is rooted in community involvement. We believe that rural communities should be active participants in constructing their bridges, fostering a strong sense of ownership and pride in the project.

Community-Based

Bridge requests are initiated by community members who then form a committee to collaborate with us throughout the bridge-building process.

Community-Partcipation

We actively include local community members by hiring local laborers to help with construction, ensuring their involvement every step of the way.

Community-Empowerment

Upon completion, we hand over the bridge to the community in a celebratory ceremony, providing them with guidelines for ongoing maintenance.

Our team of engineers, in partnership with our Technical Advisory Committee, design our bridges with a focus on sustainability, continually refining and improving the plans to ensure they meet the highest standards and address the unique needs of each community for long-term impact.

There are bridges and there are bridges. Some transport children to school daily as with our partnership with Bridiging the Gap Africa on four community bridges so far.
